Fall 2011: Best Season Ever?
Another month full of theatrical awe and improvisational joyriding is drawing to a close. From the midwest, to Canada, to the set of the Today Show, I have been honored and humbled by the fall season thus far.
Here are the summations for Fall 2011
THE TODAY SHOW
The Story Pirates were featured on the Today Show! I am extremely grateful to be a part of this organization and this show in particular. Watch the video to see who we are, what we do and how we affect kids' lives. You also get to see Jon Stewart playing JFK (not the president) and me playing a giant donut!
STORY PIRATES MIDWEST TOUR
Wow, what a midwestern slice of heaven! Story Pirates from both NY and LA reunited in the middle of the country to perform shows, teach workshops and inspire the kids and adults of Chicago, Geneseo, IL, and Grand Rapids, Michigan. We even got to meet up with our old friends on the Theo Boone Book Tour and perform at the inspirational Center for Independent Futures!
VIIF 12
The Vancouver International Improv Festival was literally one of the best times I've ever had, professionally and personally. The caliber of talent that I saw this year was truly mindblowing and I was honored to be performing with the International Ensemble under the direction of improv legends Randy Dixon and Charna Halpern. Thank you for an out of body, reinvigorating improv experience. Check out the VIIF facebook page for some great photos and dancing videos!
Hello, Los Angeles!
Leslie Korein is officially on the LA Train!
Arriving in Los Angeles in the middle of July, Leslie has already started performing with The Story Pirates west coast branch in Westwood and has improvisationally debuted at the Fanatic Salon in Culver City, performing with the All Girl Review. She was delighted to share the stage with Jane Morris, Kathleen Campbell, Mary Wachtel and Edie McClurg!
